Yet Another Retailer Flees Crime-Stricken San Francisco, City Officials Make Delusional Claim That Crime Isn't Rising

T-Mobile joins the ever-growing list of retailers evacuating the crime-stricken city of San Francisco, as they quietly shut the doors on their Union Square store.

The phone service company put up signs informing consumers they’d be leaving the two-story, 17,000-square-foot store at least an entire month ago, per The Daily Wire. A spokesman for T-Mobile said that the company was looking to have a “reshaped” “retail strategy.” The former employees were also reportedly “offered roles within the company” as there are still other T-Mobile stores not too far away.

The news comes just weeks after Nordstrom announced it would be pulling its Union Square location for similar reasons to T-Mobile, as reported by the DC Enquirer. T-Mobile only adds to the ever-growing list of companies high-tailing it out of the crime-infested city.

Crime is the primary reason blamed for the exodus, as the high crime rate has harmed tourism as well as normal visitors to the area. According to a San Francisco Chamber of Commerce report, 70 percent of residents feel the quality of life in the city has decreased, with eight percent of residents planning to leave San Francisco in the coming year.

San Francisco first saw a notable hit to the area's foot traffic when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, but it has only gotten worse with the ever-increasing crime in the area.

Despite the continued departure of major retailers from the city, as well as the public backlash from citizens, the city has done little in the ways of actually curbing the ever-growing crime rate that they’ve been facing. Rather than taking action, the city instead is claiming that crime is much lower than people claim it to be, citing the city's crime rates. This claim has been disputed, however, as according to Fox News, many of the DAs are “pro-criminal and not going to enforce the law.”

San Francisco seems to be facing a major problem in its future but in its do-or-die moment, the liberals of the city are choosing to sacrifice the safety of citizens and the economic prosperity of the entire city to allow criminals to be able to run free. It’s a sad day when the government of a once flourishing city allows it to decay into a shell of what it once was, however, the citizens who voted these leaders into power only have themselves to blame.
